Wahine Man, by The Boat Drunks
2008-02-03
In the spirit of Tropical Breezes and Caribbean rhythms, The Boat Drunks will have you singing along. Callin' in Gone and the Hollow Man are just two of the tunes on this album that is destined to be a classic in the genre of trop rock albums.
I am enjoying the music of the Boat Drunks. They have a trop rock sound and sing songs that tell a story. I have been enjoying all the tunes on this album. My life has improved quite a bit culturally with the advent of Radio Margaritaville on Sirius channel 31. Although the preacher may not always agree with my viewpoint.
Excerpt of the lyrics to Hypo-Christian. I like the song, I know this Brother, Hell who am I trying to fool, I might even have been this Brother a time or two. A shaky testimony to be sure.
- “Praise the Lord I'm Alive!” he likes to exclaim but when you turn your back he’s damning the rain
- Why does Sunday morning follow Saturday night?
- Last night that doorman had to usher him out, this morning he's an usher and a heavenly scout
- Got to make that appearance it’ll make everything alright
- He's a HypoChristian just swelling with pride, a God-fearing, hell-raising Jeckyll and Hyde
- Life's too short to walk that straight of a line, He's a HypoChristian, half wrong and half right, a saint all day and a sinner all night
- A Friday bowlin’ high rollin’ soul patrollin’ Brother Divine
